(More customer reviews)Though not included with the actual Reader, this charger is extremely useful for a) quick charging, b) recovering from complete battery death and c) charging in situations where there is no computer available.
I bought this charger after noticing that the reader would not charge through a wall plug to USB converter (like the iPhone/iPod and other gadgets use).This seems to be a design flaw of the Reader but not one of the charger.I have been pleased with the performance of the charger and have found that in some cases where I have let the battery die completely in the reader, normal computer USB supply is not enough (or perhaps I wasn't patient enough) to reanimate the device.However, immediately on plugging in the reader charger, the reader rebooted and was charged quite quickly.
I recommend the charger highly but am disappointed that it's an attempt at nickel and diming for accessories by Sony.
